Overview

ReleaseWatch tracks a release from the moment CI reports it until after it is live. It has three parts:

• A Python webhook API that ingests CI events
• A background worker that runs post-deployment health checks
• A React dashboard showing release status, failed checks and rollbacks

The repo includes setup docs and API examples.

Performance work

On a 50,000-event test dataset, p95 API response time dropped 62%, from 740 ms to 280 ms, after three changes:

• Composite indexes on the hot query paths
• Cursor pagination in place of offset pagination
• Batched database queries in place of per-row lookups

Testing

pytest and Playwright run in CI and block deployments when checks fail. The tests cover release creation, failed health checks and rollback status. Smoke checks then run against the hosted service.
